So I winnowed the sketches down to nine. I'm sending the suite of nine drawings to the bride and groom, with color copies to her parents.
I have two more big items to cross off my list before being able to get back to my watery paintings: making illustrations for a foodlovers' guide to my area and selecting images and writing about myself in response to a request from a BEAUTIFUL magazine that will be featuring Laurelines in its fall issue! More about both later---don't want to queer either deal. (So forget what you just read until both are faits accomplis ;D.)

For images of another beautiful Savannah wedding, please go to my dear friend Tara Bradford's blog Paris Parfait. Her gorgeous daughter Jordana was married there last week!
These are wonderful, Laura. They take me back there in a way that photos can't.

Oh thank you so much for the shout-out, dear Louise! These sketches are just stunning. What a special gift for Grace!
And your good news sounds thrilling! Can't wait to hear more!

What a lucky couple - that's the perfect wedding gift. Remind me to invite you if ever any of my children get married....
I'm very excited about your projects as well - please let us know ahead of time which magazine so we can get a copy before they sell out!

Laura, what a wonderful gift for Grace and Aaron. I wish I had known you back when we got married in New Orleans. I'm sure these will be treasured for a lifetime--they are beautiful.

Everyone else has said how lovely the drawings are and, they are. I want to say something else. You've got nerve, in a good way, boldness, creative juice that's got to find a way out and isn't inhibited like, quite frankly, I am. I would have "wanted" to take my drawing stuff to the wedding but I would have bailed out. Good on you. I hope to get there sooner than later.

Great lines and I love your selection of colors! :) A lot of blue and a lot of green. They all look so fresh and new, and more importantly relaxed and happy. ^^ Wonderful sketches!

Thank you so much, kind people! Owen, I broke the inhibition barrier a good long while ago. I'll bet you will, too!

The last one, with those trees, is just how I imagine Savannah. Wow.
