I'm a member of Sketchercise, a group started by the formidable Katherine Tyrrell (is there much on the internet relating to art that she HASN'T started?) and, as with many of my other groups, I've been MIA of late. So, with the parade of projects almost completed, I can now turn my attention to more relaxed (and colorful) stuff. Note the word 'almost.' I have NOT totally finished the projects, but this was a holiday weekend and I said what the heck---I'm going to play. Two sketches for Sketchercise and one of my town, just because. More to come this week, in color and in black and white!

These are great, Laura! I would say the street and grass areas work beautifully. Love the feather and quarter, too. Next time I'm on that corner, I'll have to think of your depiction of it!

You know, these are all incredibly charming. But so are you. Mwah!

You really use color in a very individual way - I keep trying to understand how you do it, but it escapes me. I love all of these.

Beautiful little cameos and the page designs add pizazz - glad you got out to play!

'morning Laura,
Congrats on another beautiful family event. Glad you're heading out walking again and posting your delightful little vignettes.

Really lovely journal spreads, Laura... it's tough sometimes, I think, when we see other's journals and admire them, but our work is nothing like that... I'm trying to incorporate what I like, in my own way, while realizing I have to be true to myself. Your work is really very nice... liked your washes in the previous post, too! Brava!

This feather just blew me away. It is just wonderful. I have a beautiful dry point etching on my wall of a feather that a friend did, but this one even beats that.
