Oh, I long to be back there, on that secluded beach, on that glorious autumn afternoon.
A very moving, tender polychrome figure, one of many such at the Museum of Breton Culture in Quimper. This is a world-class museum on an intimate scale. You should go if ever you have the chance!
The doors of my rented house in the Breton countryside were almost electric in their blueness.
There was a doll museum in Josselin, containing the collection of a member of the Rohan family, who've owned the adjacent chateau since time began. Or thereabouts.
Early in my stay, Casey and I had lunch in Lochmariaquer, before taking a boat ride among the nearby islands. Here were some neighbors at the cafe.
Be sure to check out Casey's sketches of Brittany---she posted more yesterday.
So, c'est tout, les amis. I have no more of Brittany to share. Hasn't it been fun, though? I hope someday to return to that surprising, enchanting place.

The beautiful blue of the doors reminds me of the doors and shutters in French North Africa. They are always cerulean blue, with almost no exceptions. You captured the spirit of Brittany very well. It makes me want to go!

Yes, the blue doors reminded me of Morrocco. You paint such an evocative picture - almost as good a vacance en Bretagne. Almost!

Our trip already convinced me that I love Brittany, and this series of posts has confirmed it. Michel is forever grateful to you......

You sure make me long to go there too Laura - have so loved sharing the trip with you. At least we can come back here often to get a taste of Brittany! Those blue doors are stunning, and that beach... sigh!

That top water sketch I really think is one of your best, so loose and full of movement.
It's been wonderful to visit through your eyes, thank you so much, and for making time to see us too!

I love your loose inked sketching style, especially on the rocky shore. And your rented house with the blue door sounds like a most delightful place to stay!

Visiting your journal pages has been such a lovely way to begin my day. You have only to look your beach scene, to smell the air, feel the breeze on your face and the sand beneath your feet. It must be so, because it did that for me :) ahhhhhh. well done!

Beautiful sketches. I know Brittany fairly well (we've spent quite a few weeks in different areas) and your sketches really give the right impression: lights, shades, one can almost smell the sea ! Bravo, c'est vraiment superbe !

What a gorgeous set to wrap up your trip! I love those blue doors, and would love to see them in person. REALLY fantastic paintings of the dolls -- SO solid and very nearly touchable. Now, I wonder what your next adventure will be...
:-) Hope all is going well.
