...and it was fun! One of my art goals this year was to break out of my customary color palette. I made several sketchbooks focusing on color and one of the recurring elements in these were little personal color inventories, little still lives or vignettes in which the objects were all of the color in question.
Here are a few of these, in the order in which I drew them ( of course, click on each for larger image):
I'm going to do some summing-up posts about my 2005 artwork next week, but couldn't resist getting a headstart with this one.
It is amazing what one can do with a mechanical arm. More seriously the idea is beautifully executed.
Regards, Neil

Laura,
Your vingettes are lovely and your color so transparent and vibrant! I love seeing the series and look forward to your plan for 2006. Care to share them with us? I can't decide which color series are my favorites! All the best in 2006!

Hmmm.. of course, by "this year" I meant "next year". Duh. Why am I rushing things? :-D

Laura, I've always thought these color exercises you did are a wonderful idea and your results are fantastic! What is the plan for this year?

I think you were accomplished breaking out of your color palette! I am anxious to read your conclusions/discoveries you made after doing these studies and how it will affect your future work. I especially like the blue page but all the pages are really nice!
